COMRT 145 - Foundations of Rhetoric and Public Communication Credits: 4 An introduction to the theory and history of public persuasion as an art central to civic life in a democratic society. Working with both ancient and contemporary texts, students explore the beginnings of communication as a field of study and the power of acts of communication to influence others, enable inquiry, shape identity, form community, and promote collective interests.
