HIST 261 - A Survey of American Women’s History Credits: 4 A survey of the social, political, and economic role of women in American history from the colonial period to the present. Among the issues discussed are family as a force in American history, the impact of feminism on the major institutions of American life, the working lives of women, women’s sexuality, the role of race and ethnicity in shaping women’s lives, and the emergence of women on the political stage.
