DMS 580 - Movement and Meaning: Experiencing, Observing, and Analyzing Movement as a Primary Text Credits: 4 An investigation into the use of movement observation and analysis as a tool for research in the arts and sciences. Both individual explorations and group movement interactions are viewed through the aspects of body utilization, effort dynamics, spatial awareness, and shape changes. Movement analysis is applied to a variety of fields, such as dance, sports, therapy, education, child development, cultural studies, and non-verbal communication.
Prerequisite: DMS 100 and one introductory practice course (DMS 101 through DMS 200 ) and permission of instructor.
