POLSC 457 - National Security Controversies Credits: 4 An examination of contemporary controversies relating to national security. A brief overview of the field will be presented, followed by an exploration of key political, social, psychological, and technical problems facing the defense establishment. Specific issues to be treated are the role of women in combat, the growing rift in civil-military relations, the challenge of technological complexity in war, and contending views on the nature of future wars.
Prerequisite: POLSC 251 is encouraged but not required.
