COMM 331 - Disease, Disability, and Difference in Popular Culture Credits: 4 An exploration of how American popular culture defines what it means to be “healthy” or “normal” in today’s world. Students learn to analyze films, television, news, and other digital media to understand how such media sets expectations for dealing with illness, disability, or other divergences from social norms in a variety of ways.
Prerequisite: One 100-level or 200-level COMM course; or permission of instructor.
