HIST 339 - Problems in the History of American Women Credits: 4 A thematic study of major issues in the history of American women. Topics may include: the experiences of women in the settlement process; the effects of war and revolution on women’s lives; the impact of the women’s rights and feminist movements on American women and men; how race, ethnicity, and class have shaped women’s lives; the history of sexuality; the changing nature of women’s roles within the family; and women and work in American history.
Prerequisite: HIST 261 or permission of the instructor.
