ENGL 113 - Literature and Race Credits: 4 A course in the close reading of literary texts. Through the study of multiple genres of literary works concerning race, students develop their ability to read carefully and to understand the relationship between literary texts, race, and a range of historical and/or literary contexts. The course also introduces students to some of the terms and critical approaches necessary for further literary study.

Note: This class may be taken to fulfill the ENGL 110 requirement.
