POLSC 380 - Classical Political Thought Credits: 4 An analysis of selected texts from among the political theorists of antiquity with special attention paid to such themes as the nature and purpose of political life, the meaning of citizenship, problems peculiar to political action, and the character of the best regime. Readings are drawn from the works of dramatists, historians and philosophers such as Aeschylus, Sophocles, Thucydides, Plato and Aristotle.
Prerequisite: POLSC 140 or POLSC 285 is recommended.
