MUSIC 214 - Improvisation Workshop
Credits: 2
A workshop to develop skills in musical improvisation. Students bring their own instruments or voices to the study of scales, modes, and chord progressions to be applied in styles including, but not limited to jazz, rock, blues, and soul. Creating a melody over existing harmonic progressions is a principal focus of the course, but chordal improvisation for keyboard and guitar is also included. May be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite: MUSIC 188
