ART 584 - Contemporary Institutions of Display Credits: 4 A critical examination of venues that display art from the 1960s to the present, building on the premise that they are ideologically invested spaces that actively inform public perception of works within. In addition to working with the concurrent offerings of the Bowman, Penelec and Megahan Galleries, students study a range of institutions, including museums, galleries, alternative non-profit spaces, and private foundations, become acquainted with aspects of the art market and various art-related career paths, and participate in a hands-on gallery project.
Prerequisite: Any Art History course (ART 115 orART 250 ).
