PSYCH 206 - Research Methods in Psychology Credits: 4 The first course in a two-semester sequence in research methods and statistics in psychology. Topics include research designs (e.g., descriptive, correlational, quasi-experimental, and experimental), issues in research design and interpretation (e.g., reliability, validity, and controlling sources of variance), ethics in research, descriptive statistics, graphical methods of data presentation, an introduction to statistical data packages, writing the methods section of a scientific report, and literature searching in psychology.
Prerequisite: A core course in Psychology.
Distribution Requirements: QR, SP.
Students are strongly encouraged to take PSYCH 207 in the semester following PSYCH 206.
