GEO 108 - Environmental Geology Credits: 4 Application of geologic principles toward understanding Earth processes emphasizing interactions between humanity and the physical Earth. Designed as an introduction to geology, the course includes basic concepts of Earth materials (rocks and minerals), Earth structure, and surficial environments. Topics include water resources and contamination, land use planning, natural hazards such as earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides and floods, energy and economic resources, and environmental regulations and policies. Laboratory or field work, one period.
Distribution Requirements: CL, SP.
May not be taken after successful completion of GEO 110 .
