BIO 375 - Medical Entomology Credits: 4 A study of insects and other arthropods and their impact on human health. We examine insect vectors of human diseases and of diseases of domesticated animals; symptoms of diseases and changes in physiology that occur as the diseases progress; direct effects of insects, such as dermatitis, allergic reactions, and effects of venoms introduced into our bodies; and the treatment and prevention of such health concerns. Meets weekly for three fifty-minute periods and one discussion period.
Prerequisite: BIO 220 .
