HIST 305 - The Italian Renaissance Credits: 4 The age of experimentation. An examination of the principal developments of the period of the Renaissance. Among the topics considered are the rise of capitalism, social change and dislocation, the Italian city-states, the cultural and intellectual revival, and Humanism. The course concentrates on Italy during the period 1300-1500.
Prerequisite: HIST 105 or HIST 107 , or permission of the instructor.
